1. Question and inputs
Which intervals in two generated formation records support integration? Both use 12 V and +1 A, with a declared maximum integration gap of 120 s. Each record contains five rows. SYN-A timestamps are 0, 60, 120, 180 and 240 s; SYN-B timestamps are 0, 60, 120, 300 and 360 s.
2. Supported interval accounting
Only original-adjacent intervals within the gap cap are integrated. For SYN-B, 120-300 s is excluded, while 300-360 s remains included. No extrapolation fills the missing interval.
| Measure | SYN-A | SYN-B |
|---|---|---|
| Input rows | 5 | 5 |
| Observed span (s) | 240 | 360 |
| Supported duration (s) | 240 | 180 |
| Supported / observed time (%) | 100.0 | 50.0 |
| Positive throughput (Ah) | 0.066667 | 0.050000 |
| Positive energy (Wh) | 0.800 | 0.600 |
| Eligible endpoint peak (°C) | 29 | 30 |
The supported/observed ratio is a report-specific coverage measure: supported time divided by the first-to-last observed span. It is not a battery-quality score. Displayed values are rounded; full precision is in the linked JSON.
3. Reproduce the calculation
SYN-A: 4 x 60 = 240 s; Q = 1 x 240 / 3600 = 0.066667 Ah; E = 12 x 240 / 3600 = 0.800 Wh. SYN-B: 3 x 60 = 180 s; Q = 0.050000 Ah; E = 0.600 Wh.
4. Interpretation and next check
SYN-B does not support a full-window throughput estimate. Request the missing records or confirm why the gap occurred before comparing complete runs. Its lower reported total does not establish weaker battery performance, avoidable scrap or an efficiency opportunity.
5. Limits and provenance
- All inputs were generated for this example. No instrument uncertainty or experimental repeatability is available.
- The two observed windows differ; the totals are not a performance ranking.
- Throughput is not rated capacity. No efficiency, state of health, scrap reduction or financial saving is inferred.
